Ellen Jean Winograd practices primarily in the areas of employment law, transportation (litigation and regulatory), insurance defense and commercial litigation. She is licensed in California and Nevada. Ms. Winograd frequently speaks on CLE panels and appears before legal and lay audiences addressing a variety of topics. She has served on several non-profit Boards, most recently as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Artown, northern Nevada's premier Arts Organization. She has handled or helped handle the following representative reported cases: Moore v. Landmark Hotel Casino, 757 P.2d 361 (Nev. 1988); Drucker v. O'Brien's Moving and Storage, 745 F.Supp. 616 (D.Nev 1990); Estate of Young v. Larry Holmes, 134 F.R.D. 291 (D.Nev. 1991); Drucker v. O'Brien's Moving and Storage, 963 F.2d 1171 (9th Cir. 1992); Bradshaw v. Golden Road, Inc., 885 F.Supp. 1370 (D.Nev. 1995); Ray v. Continental Western Ins. Co., 920 F.Supp. 1094 (D.Nev. 1996); Hays Home Delivery v. Employers' Insurance Company of Nevada, 31 P.3d 367 (Nev. 2001). Ms. Winograd applied to and was admitted to the Nevada Bar in 1984, and the California Bar in 1983. She received a B.A. in Sociology from Stanford University in 1980. She received her J. D. degree from the University of California, Hastings College of Law in 1983. Ms. Winograd is a member of the Washoe County and Nevada State Bar Associations, as well as the State Bar of California, American Bar Association, the Association of Transportation Practitioners, and the Transportation Lawyers Association, and speaks German. |
