Shay L. Wells is a shareholder at Woodburn and Wedge. His practice focuses on business and corporate law, entity selection and formation, mergers and acquisitions, and real estate and other commercial transactions. Mr. Wells joined the law firm in 2010 after serving as a summer associate in 2009. Mr. Wells was recognized in the 2021 edition of The Best Lawyers in America on the Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch list, recognizing those earlier in their careers, in the practice area of commercial litigation.

In law school Mr. Wells was a member of the Gonzaga Law Review and became associate editor in his final year of law school. Mr. Wells also participated in Gonzaga's externship program and worked as the legal extern to the Eastern District of Washington Bankruptcy Court. While there, he served as the legal extern for two judges: the Honorable Chief Justice of the Eastern District, Frank L. Kurtz and the Honorable John A. Rossmeissl.
