Colton T. Loretz is an associate attorney at Woodburn and Wedge practicing primarily in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, real estate, transportation law, employer/employee relations, appellate and civil litigation, and mediation / alternative dispute resolution.  Before being admitted to the State Bar of Nevada, Mr. Loretz worked as an extern with the appellate division of the Washoe County District Attorney’s Office under the Chief Appellate Deputy and as a judicial extern for both the Honorable Judge Jennifer P. Togliatti in the Eighth Judicial District Court and the Honorable Judge James C. Mahan in the United States District Court for the District of Nevada.

Since joining the firm, Colton has assisted with the closing of several large commercial deals in the mergers & acquisitions realm (one totaling $30 million and another $90 million). He has also helped with reviewing and developing creative solutions to various other business matters including contracts, real property, and landlord-tenant disputes. Colton has appeared before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and successfully argued for and obtained an order of affirmance of zero liability for a large transportation carrier and its independent contractor.

Colton is a certified mediator that can employ facilitative and evaluative techniques towards conflict resolution between parties, whether it be business disputes, special education, real property, landlord-tenant, employment issues, insurance disputes, personal injury, and more.
